    אודי לבל הנו פרופסור חבר בביה"ס לתקשורת, חוקר בכיר במרכז בגין-סאדאת למחקרים אסטרטגיים וראש המרכז לתקשורת בינלאומית (CIC) באוניברסיטת בר אילן.

    הוא בעל תואר דוקטור (PhD) מ- King's College, University of London, 2001.

    מחקריו עוסקים בחקר תקשורת פוליטית; בחקר קהילות שיח וקהילות מדיניות; בחקר הזיכרון הקולקטיבי, שיח השכול ושיח הטראומה ושיח החוסן האישי, הקהילתי והלאומי; בחקר בעיות חברתיות ותנועות חברתיות; בחקר שיח הצבאיות וקהילות צבא וביטחון; בחקר הפוליטיקה של עיצוב דעת הקהל; בחקר התהוות תסריטים אישיים, קהילתיים ומוסדיים.

    הוא עוסק בהוראת והנחיית פרקטיקות ומיומנויות מחקר לרבות הנחיית קבוצות מיקוד, כתיבת שאלונים, מתודולוגיות אתנוגראפיות, חקר השיח, ניטור דעת קהל ועוד.

    בין השאר תרם לאנציקלופדיית מדעי החברה לחקר המלחמה (Sage, 2016) את הערך "חללים" (Casualties) ולספרי האגודה הסוציולוגיה הבינלאומית העוסקים בסוציולוגיה של צבא וביטחון - פרקים העוסקים בשיח המנהיגות וברטוריקת משפחות החללים.

    ספרו "הדרך אל הפנתיאון: אצ"ל, לח"י וגבולות הזיכרון הישראלי" (הוצאת כרמל ומרכז מורשת בגין) זכה בשנת 2011 בפרס ראש הממשלה. הספר יצא לאור גם במהדורה אנגלית תחת השם:
